Security officer dies three days after accident at Plaisance

A 29-year-old security officer died on Tuesday night at the Woodlands Hospital in Georgetown, three days after a car crashed into him on the Plaisance Public Road, East Coast Demerara.

Dead is Ronaldo Saul-Drepaul of Venezuela Scheme, Melanie, ECD.

A statement from the police on Wednesday noted that the accident occurred on April 23 at about 18:55 hrs and involved motorcar PPP 6446 which was being driven by Jai Kissoon, a 39-year-old Economic Consultant of Arupa Place, West Bel Air Park, Georgetown.

According to the police report, Saul-Drepaul was driving motorcycle CL 902 west along the southern driving lane when the car drove out of Prince William Street onto the road and into the path of the motorcycle.

Police said the young security officer sustained injuries and was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital by public-spirited citizens; he was later transported to Woodlands Hospital.

The accident report noted that Saul-Drepaul was unconscious; he died at around 20:00hrs on Tuesday. The driver of the car is on $300,000 station bail.
