A 12-year-old female student from the Three Miles Secondary School in Bartica, Region Seven was found with a plastic bag containing cannabis concealed in her socks.
The student claimed her friend gave her the illicit substance.
According to the police, on Wednesday, the Acting Head Mistress of the school received information that students from Grade Seven were in the classroom with narcotics.
At about 13:00hrs, the Head Mistress carried out a search and unearthed two zip loc transparent plastic bags containing cannabis concealed in the student’s sock.
She was questioned and related that she got the cannabis from her friend, another 12-year-old female student who claimed that she stole it from her father.
The father was contacted and admitted that he had the cannabis since he smokes “weed”.
They were all interviewed and sent away to return at 10:00 hrs on Thursday to be escorted to the Childcare and Protection Agency.
