Five of the eight persons who are wanted by the Special Organised Crime Unit (SOCU) for money laundering and other offences have since surrendered.

Attorney Bernard DaSilva on Friday confirmed that he will be turning in Melicia Adella Williams this morning.

The names of the other four persons who have surrendered are not immediately known.

In wanted bulletins issued on Tuesday, the Guyana Police Force said Aubrey Anthony Fraser, Leon Anthony Williams, Cassandra Alexandra McLennan, Williams, Akeem Elijah Powers, Khadijah Nafeesah Long, Raul Jomal James and Denzel Lawrence Muir are wanted by SOCU for money laundering and other serious offences committed in Guyana.

The Police Force did not disclose any other information. However, the News Room understands that the individuals are allegedly involved in a Ponzi scheme.
