CANU officers stole diamonds from Surinamese detainee
Two officers of the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU), Annick Hossanah and Jamine Goddard, were arrested after they stole diamonds from a Surinamese national who they had detained for possession of an illegal firearm.
Police Headquarters confirmed that these two were arrested a day after CANU issued a statement on the matter.

Goddard reportedly swallowed some of the stolen diamonds. Police said he was taken to a hospital where he excreted the precious stones. Hosannah, however, reportedly sold his loot to someone else.
Police noted that a search is underway for an alleged buyer of the stolen diamonds.
Both officers are in Police custody pending investigations.
