Three months community service for man who admits to ganja possession

Lestroy Archibald, a 29-year-old mason of Tuschen Squatting Area, East Bank Essequibo, was on Friday ordered to do three months of community service following his guilty plea to the possession of narcotic for the purpose of trafficking.

He appeared at the Diamond Magistrate’s Court before Senior Magistrate Sunil Scarce, where he pleaded guilty with an explanation, a statement from Police Headquarters noted.

He will serve his three months of community service one day each week.

Archibald was a passenger in a minibus when he was nabbed at a roadblock at Mango Landing in Region Eight. He was found to be in possession of 21.4 grams of marijuana.
