Guyana Embassy in Qatar hosts Iftaar for diaspora

On Tuesday, Guyana’s Embassy in Qatar hosted an Iftar gathering for members of the Guyanese diaspora residing there. Approximately forty-five members of the diaspora were present including professors, medical professionals, educators, and students. Ambassador Safraaz Shadood conveyed Ramadan greetings to the gathering from President Irfaan Ali. He also used the opportunity to highlight the development trajectory that Guyana is currently undertaking at breathtaking speed and the close ties between Guyana and Qatar that are being forged.

The Programme consisted of a Quranic recitation which was done by Manal Shafeeullah, a short reminder about fasting by Mrs. Makeda Knight, and the Maghrib prayer led by Hafizul Quran Muhammad Wright. Thereafter all participated in the delicious Iftaar.
