The Police in ‘B’ Division have arrested a family of three following the discovery of an quantity of marijuana and cocaine at their East Canje Berbice Home on Wednesday January 25,2017.
News Room understands that the raid which is one of many that is being executed by ranks in Berbice was done after police received certain information yesterday afternoon.
According to information received, about 21:00 hours a search was conducted on the home of 21 year old Ron Cadogan; a Cane Harvester of Lot 365 Fourth Street, East Canje Berbice by a group of police officers who discovered a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be marijuana was found in a bathroom along with a container of a cream-like substance suspected to be cocaine.
News Room also understands that Cadogan was told of the offence and cautioned during which time he admitted that the drugs were his and as a result he and his wife and step-daughter were arrested and placed in custody pending charges.
The narcotics were weighed in their presence and amounted 104 grams of marijuana and 5 grams of cocaine.
Only recently several persons were arrested at Fort Ordinance, East Canje Berbice with 14 pounds of marijuana as members of the Anti Narcotics Unit in Berbice taking steps to clamp down on the drug trade in the region.
