A US-based Guyanese man was on Thursday robbed of $7.4M by armed bandits shortly after he cashed a cheque at a city bank.
Deodat Ramdeo and his employee, Deomattie Seeram visited a city bank around 11:45hrs to cash the cheque, News Room was informed.
They then drove to their destination at Vryheid’s Lust when the suspects rode up on a black CG motorcycle.
News Room understands that one of the suspects ordered Ramdeo to lie on the ground and he complied, while his accomplice went to Seeram, pointed the firearm to her and took away the bag containing cash and other documents.
The suspects made good their escape; investigations are ongoing.
