Police command in Essequibo have confirmed that Orin Boston, a businessman popularly known as “Bat”, was killed during a confrontation with members of the Police’s SWAT team early Wednesday.
The Police have made no formal statement on Boston’s death, but the Essequibo Police Commander told the News Room that Boston was killed. However, she could not provide details of what transpired.
Boston operated the “Ease Meh Stress” Bar.
The death of Boston caused some residents of Dartmouth to protest by burning debris on the main access bridge, preventing traffic from flowing.
Those engaged in the protest are calling for “justice.”
