Kamboat employee robbed on way home from work

A 34-year-old woman was robbed of over $50,000 as she was walking home after she left her workplace at the Kamboat Restaurant in Herstelling, East Bank Demerara (EBD).

The incident occurred on Saturday, January 06, 2018 at Back Street, Peter’s Hall, EBD at minutes to midnight.

News Room understands that the woman, Marcia Adams, joined a minibus and disembarked at School Street, Peter’s Hall where her husband was waiting to accompany her home.

As they were walking, a man rode up on a motorcycle with a handgun.

He stopped in their path, dismounted the bike and relieved the woman of her handbag.

She was robbed of her Blue cellular phone, her ID card and her bank card, her keys and over $30,000 in cash.

An investigation has been launched into the incident.
