Teen likely killed after hit by boat at Splashmin’s Resort

An 18-year-old teenager whose motionless body was fished out of the creek at the Splashmin’s Resort on Saturday is likely to have died after being struck by a boat.

Ronaldo Gomes of Norton Street, Worthmanville, Georgetown, had injures to the head, face and arm when police discovered him.

It is believed that the injuries came from a boat propeller and according to information received, several boats were traversing the creek during the day.

Gomes and his cousin were on a family outing at the popular resort at Soesdyke/Linden Highway.
News Room understands that when the family was ready to depart around 17:00hrs, Gomes was could not be located.

As such, the cousin went to a highway patrol base where he made a report and was then accompanied by police officers to the resort where a search was conducted and the teen’s lifeless body was fished out of the creek.
An investigation is ongoing.
