Police in collaboration with the Regional Democratic Council of Region Three conducted a road clearing exercise on Tuesday and removed a number of vendors who were preventing the free flow of traffic and use of the pedestrian walkway at the Vreed-en-Hoop junction on the West Coast of Demerara.
Police Headquarters noted that six shops were removed with the cooperation of the vendors.
It was noted that these shops “were directly impeding the free movements of pedestrian from utilising the pedestrian walkway that are so designated.”
The removal of these vendors and their stalls will allow for the cleaning of the side drain and walkway.
