Kishan Bayo, also known as Penton, is believed to have drowned sometime on Monday.
Police Headquarters in a statement said the 26-year-old fisherman of No. 76 Village Corentyne, Berbice was last seen alive and highly intoxicated at about 12:30 hours.
More than 12 hours later, at about 16:45 hours, he was found lying motionless in a drain at No. 76 Village.
Police said the body was examined and no marks of violence were seen.
