Two months after two friends – 25-year-old Paishnarine ‘Richie’ Hansraj and 34-year-old Justin Teixeira – were found dead in a car in the Marriott Hotel parking lot in Kingston, Georgetown, contents from their stomach sent overseas for testing confirmed that they both consumed cyanide – a poisonous substance.

The tests were conducted at NMS Labs in Texas, United States and revealed that both men had a significant concentration of cyanide.

The motionless bodies of the men were found in the wee hours of April 23 in the front seat of Teixeira’s car by an employee of the hotel.

The News Room previously reported that preliminary analysis of the ‘whitish hard’ substance found in the back seat of the vehicle confirmed the presence of cyanide.

The decision to send the stomach contents for further testing overseas was done after results from the autopsies were inconclusive.

Hansraj who resided at Hague, West Coast Demerara was the only son of his parents and is known for his singing. Teixeira lived at Republic Park, East Bank Demerara.
