Kum was later discovered lying face down in his camp by relatives. There were lacerations across the throat and face.

He was escorted to the Port Mourant Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Ramnarine’s mother-in-law, Sattie Ramotar, told the News Room that on Tuesday night Kum opted to sleep in a hammock under a shed nearby to the shack, because “place was hot,”

Ramotar said she spent the day Tuesday with Kum and the others and went home in the evening.

According to her, she was cooking around 01:00 hr Wednesday when she heard noise from the shack as if something was hitting it.

When she inquired, she saw her son-in-law running after someone on a bicycle.

Ramotar said she ran out of her house and ventured over to the shack where she saw Kum in a slumped position with blood oozing from his neck.
