23-Y-0 killed in Saffon St. accident

A 23-year-old man died hours after he was involved in an accident after curfew hours Monday night.

Dead is Terry Danraj, of Ogle Railway Road, East Coast Demerara.

Regional Commander Senior Superintendent Phillip Azore told the News Room that Danraj died at about 13:30h Tuesday at the Georgetown Public Hospital.

Danraj was the passenger in a Spacio motorcar when it collided with a trailer at about 21:00h on Monday at Saffon and Sussex Streets, Georgetown.

The News Room understands that the young man received severe injuries to the head and was taken to the hospital in an unconscious state; he died without regaining consciousness.

The driver of the car is said to be in a stable condition at the hospital.

The car was heading in the direction of Georgetown when it crashed into the trailer and remained pinned underneath.
