Police are investigating the circumstances under which a Policeman was stabbed several times and relieved of his Service Pistol at a club in Second Street, Alberttown about 01:00hrs Saturday.
A brief Police statement noted that the rank sustained injuries to his head, stomach
He is said to be in a stable condition in a city hospital and efforts are being made to recover the weapon and apprehend the suspects.
